Borrower Types We Serve

Contractors, farmers, hotshot truckers, small businesses, and private buyers.

A working small-business audience, plus a meaningful consumer slice

Roughly two-thirds of WeFinanceTrailers.com applicants are business-purpose buyers — sole proprietors, LLCs, and small S-corps buying a trailer as a revenue-producing tool. The remaining third are consumer buyers financing personal-use trailers. Understanding who is inside each group is what allows a lender to decide which segments they want to serve.

Contractors and trades

Landscapers, roofers, general contractors, concrete crews, painters, and mobile service operators. Typical purchase: dump trailer, enclosed cargo, or utility trailer, $10k–$35k. Bank statements are usually strong; time in business ranges from six months to 15+ years. Prime and near-prime credit both common.

Hotshot truckers and small carriers

Owner-operators and small fleets running gooseneck flatbeds, deckovers, and car haulers, typically $25k–$60k. Many are relatively new to trucking (under 2 years in business) and route best to startup programs that accept three months of bank statements and a personal guarantee.

Farmers and agricultural buyers

Family farms and independent producers buying goosenecks, stock trailers, and equipment trailers. Loan sizes range $15k–$75k. Credit tends to be prime, time in business is measured in generations, and industry stability is high — very fundable files for banks and credit unions.

Food-truck and mobile-business operators

Enclosed concession and specialty trailers, $20k–$80k. Business tenure is often short; underwriting benefits from strong bank statements and a meaningful down payment.

Consumer buyers

Horse and livestock owners, RV/toy hauler enthusiasts, boat owners, and homeowners buying utility trailers for personal use. These files route to consumer installment lenders and credit unions with consumer trailer programs, not to commercial equipment finance companies.

Private-party buyers

A fast-growing cross-cutting group — buyers of all types purchasing from Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or private sellers. Routed only to lenders with active private-party programs that can handle title work and lien perfection outside a dealer environment.
